The Great Filly Film Cult Experiment
As an independent production company,
we are interested in creating a scenario in which making a full-length
film is possible. The idea is simple. We won't be writing a vehicle
for Kate Winslet or Morgan Freeman. It won't be set in Angkor
Wat, Cambodia. It won't involve CGI aliens or a crowd scene in
Yankee Stadium.
So what makes our experiment different from any other
independent film?
It is simple. Instead of starting with an
idea and then pursuing the means, our means will dictate our
idea. Instead of starting with a script, we will begin with
lists...
- A list of locations — our own apartments, our friends'
yards.
- A list of costumes and props — the clothes and
items from our everyday lives, seen in a new light.
- A list of
actors, directors, musicians — the many
talented artists we’ve met during our journey.
The Great
Filly Film Cult Experiment asks the question: what type of story
can be written, what type of movie made, when you strip down
to the basic elements and work within your means?
The answer will
be our finished product.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 as our total
budget. Then we will sit down, pour our collective thoughts into
a metaphorical beaker, and see what will explode onto the page
and eventually onto the screen. We hope you will join us in our
adventure by continuing to support our events and our company
through your presence.
Forever yours,
The Filly Film Cult
